CSAIA has adhered to the Rome Call for AI Ethics – www.romecall.org/organisation
– promoted by the Pontifical Academy for Life, already signed by the Italian Government in 2020, by the FAO, Sapienza University of Rome, the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Microsoft, IBM, and many other global institutions involved in the study of AI systems.
The Rome Call for AI Ethics is a document that calls for an ethical approach to artificial intelligence. First promoted on February 28, 2020, the Rome Call has generated growing interest over the years. The idea behind the Call is to foster a sense of shared responsibility among international organizations, governments, institutions, universities, and the private sector in order to create a future in which every individual can benefit from technological progress, and in which technological advancement ensures respect for the dignity of every person and of our common home. By investing in a new ethical algorithmics, the signatories commit to adhering to the principles of the Rome Call in terms of transparency, inclusion, responsibility, fairness, reliability, security, and privacy.
