Artificial Intelligence Research Center: The Rector of the University of Palermo Heads the Scientific Committee

Massimo Midiri, Rector of the University of Palermo, has been appointed president of the scientific committee of the Center for Advanced Studies on Artificial Intelligence. The appointment was conferred by the president of CSAIA, Pier Paolo Maria Menchetti.
The organization brings together academics, scholars, researchers, computer scientists, and entrepreneurs conducting research to apply AI systems created under human supervision for human well-being.
The announcement was made by the president of CSAIA during the proceedings of the Italian Foundation for Digital Medicine (FOMED), held in recent days at Palazzo Steri in Palermo and also sponsored by the University of Palermo and ERSU Palermo.
“The Board of Directors of the Center for Advanced Studies on Artificial Intelligence,” said its president Pier Paolo Maria Menchetti, “has unanimously resolved to appoint Professor Massimo Midiri, Rector of the University of Palermo, as president of the National Scientific Committee, for his proactive enthusiasm in creating a network of interdisciplinary collaborations, as well as for the geopolitical and historical role that Sicily and the University of Palermo play in the Mediterranean basin.
To date, CSAIA’s Scientific Committee includes members from Italy, France, Germany, San Marino, and the United States.
